How to Choose the Right Study Destination

Compare the UK, USA, Canada, Europe, Asia and Africa on cost, course length and career prospects.

Choosing where to study is one of the biggest decisions you will make. Here are the questions our counsellors ask every student.

1. How long do you want to study?

UK bachelor’s degrees usually take three years and many master’s one year. In the USA and Canada, bachelor’s degrees typically take four years.

2. What is your total budget?

Consider tuition, accommodation, living costs, flights and visa fees – not tuition alone. Destinations such as Malaysia and Ghana can offer international qualifications at lower overall cost.

3. What are your career plans?

Look at post-study work options, industry links and where graduates of your course find jobs.

4. Which entry route fits your results?

Foundation and International Year One programmes open doors for students who need an extra step after WAEC.
