What is a Foundation year?
A one-year university preparation programme for students whose secondary-school results do not yet meet direct-entry requirements. Passing it leads to Year 1 of a degree.
What is the difference between Foundation and International Year One?
Foundation leads to Year 1 of a degree; International Year One is the first year of the degree itself with extra support, so you progress straight into Year 2.
Can I study abroad with an HND?
Yes. Many universities accept HND holders onto top-up degrees, pre-masters or master’s programmes, depending on grades and subject.
